Roberta Acosta Giroir, 91, a native and resident of Donaldsonville, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018. Roberta enjoyed being with her family and many friends. She had a servants heart and exemplified her Christian faith with her work and compassion for others. Roberta loved to talk, dance and win at Bingo. She never met a stranger. Everyone knew her and loved her smile. She would talk to everyone she met and she lived her life to the fullest. She worked at the Naval Supply Department in New Orleans, the Donaldsonville Chief and retired from Ascension Savings and Loan. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Harvey Giroir, Jr. and wife, Celine and Myrna Hidalgo and husband, Chester “Sot;" four grandchildren, Jason Giroir, Gwen Poche, Brent Hidalgo and Brad Hidalgo, Sr.; seven great grandchildren, Aidan Giroir, Alec Giroir, Claire Poche, Maci Hidalgo, Laci Hidalgo, Brad Hidalgo, Jr. and Megan Hidalgo; one great-great grandchild, Daxton Belling. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Giroir, Sr., parents, William and Dora Carlin Acosta and two brothers, William Acosta, Jr. and Vernon Acosta. Pallbearers will be Jason Giroir, Aidan Giroir, Alec Giroir, Brent Hidalgo, Brad Hidalgo, Sr. and Brad Hidalgo, Jr. The family would like to thank a special angel, Danna Clark who took excellent care of Roberta and the entire staff at Chateau St James in Lutcher, La. Visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Ascension Catholic Mausoleum.
