Mrs. Janet Sills Lawrence, age 87, of Raleigh formerly of the Plainview Community died Friday Morning, April 30, 2021 at her residence.
Janet was born on April 14, 1934 in Sampson County the daughter of the late Joel Elliott Sills and Sarah Lou Guy Sills and is preceded in death by sons, Randy Scott Hawley and Anthony Leon Hawley. She is also preceded in death by sisters, Beulah Weaver, Myrtle Strickland and Equa Sills and brothers, Hubert Leon Sills and J. E. Sills, Jr.
Janet was a loving and kind lady who loved her family very much. She was an excellent cook who always cooked enough food for an army. She would tell her children to bring bowls with them so they could take the extras home with them.
She brought her sons up to do the right thing and always believed keeping them on the “Straight and Narrow Path of Life.”
She was a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Raleigh and retired from Good Mark Foods in Raleigh.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Williford /Lee’s Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Newton officiating.
She is survived by: her husband of 44 years: Charles Henry Lawrence of the home.

The Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn, N.C. Prior to the Graveside.
