I met LENNY AT THE EL PASO POLICE DEPT. SHE WAS A GREAT FRIEND. I RETIRED FROM EPPD BUT KEPT IN TOUCH. 
ITS BEEN AWHILE I JUST FOUND OUT OF HER PASSING.

My dearest friend has gone to heaven . I was your friend for more than 45 years and no matter where we went separate ways are love was still in my heart with you. But we were in contact with each other I will always love and remember you always. We will be Hijas De Maria for ever we will be together was again with the Bless Mother.

My dear cousin Leonorcita, Thank you for always being a sweetheart.  You always had a smile to share with me. I know that you are now in Heaven with Jim and all your loved ones that have gone ahead of us. I know life gave you many challenges, but you had the will and strength to overcome them. I will miss you and will always hold you in my heart. God bless and keep you!

I want to express special appreciation to my dear friend Leonor La France, for her many words of comfort and kindness, she will always be remembered for her warm smile and that twinkle in her eyes, thank you for treating like part of your family, never like a provider, I remember this last Christmas that you spent with your family you came back home with food that you had saved for me and my kids, you were always there for me like a mother protecting me, I miss you already thank you for everything .


Lennie LaFrance,  was, the El Paso Police Department, to many of us. She always had a huge smile, a hug and a wink for anyone who needed it.  Lennie  took care of us all like a mother hen, fussing when needed and protecting us in like measure.  She ran the chief’s office with precision  and could always find the answer to any question.  We were blessed to have her working with us.  God called one of his angels home. 

In February 1978, ATF was conducting my background.  Knowing that I would be leaving EPPD soon, I wanted to keep my badge, #603.  So I reported that it had been lost in a fight.  I had to go to the Chief's Office to have a new badge assigned to me, and Lennie issued me a new one.  So in March, I made detective and was issued a detective bade as well.  On April 21, I resigned and reported to the Chief's Office to turn in my equipment, including my newly issued patrol badge and the gold detective badge.  Lennie took the patrol badge, looked at me and told me that I could keep the detective badge as a keepsake.  She told me to add it to my "lost" #603 badge and then she winked at me.  I have those two badges professionally displayed with my dates of service on the wall of my office at home.  Thank you Lennie, God Bless your soul!  She was a friend to all of us who worked the streets!

She was  a great lady, always polite and good company.  She will have a special place in heaven.


Lennie was truly a wonderful lady and she was loved by all.  She always made you feel good with her personal kindness and attention.  She had a genuine concern toward all.  Lennie was exceedingly knowledgeable and helpful.  People seldom meet people of her quality in life's travels.  God bless her and keep her.

I remember Lennie as the secretary for the Chief.  When I was called to the Chief's office to be scolded she attempted to shed some light and humor on the situation.  Her smile and understanding went a long ways to ease the impact of a bad situation.  I can only hope that she is now basking in the warm light she has earned.   

Lenny was always a Lady and loved by all.  Her choice to interact with everyone on a personal level is admirable.  Will always be in our hearts.


Lennie is one of the fondest memories I have of the early years on the department.  She was the secretary for the Traffic Division.  What most impressed me about Lennie, she knew the first and last name of every officer on the department.  She always had a smile on her face and ready to hug anyone in need of a hug.  God bless you Lennie.  I pray for your eternal happiness now that you can be with Jim.

What a wonderful person.  Lenny was always ready to help when help was needed as it often was in the Chiefs office where she was secretary.  One of the best secretaries and persons I had pleasure to know and be friends with.  Her husband and I worked together and I still remember how devastated Lenny was when he died next to her.  May she rest in peace and now be together with her love of her life.

Preceded in death by parents, Jesus Chacon-Taylor and Leonor Chacon, and brother, Jesus Ruben Chacon.  She is survived by her sisters - Elvira Munoz, Yolanda Zavala, Victoria Alva, Patricia Chacon and 12 nieces and nephews.
