Micahel Ursulo Perez

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Ursulo Michael (Mike) Perez. Age 39 . Went with our Lord and Savior on June 21, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born in El Paso, TX to Jesus J. and Maria Elena (Porras) Perez.

Michael was a dedicated Technician for A & E Factory Repair for Sears, El Paso, TX. His service area ranged in Texas and New Mexico. He was a respectful, courteous and a humble man. He was a Fabricator Service Technician and friend. He was always lending his service without hesitation to anyone in need not expecting anything in return. He was a member of the Catholic Church and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, Guadalupe Province.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ursulo B. and Amalia (Salcido) Perez, Ramon Librada (Salinas) Porras. Those left to morn his passing are his Parents and Loving wife Mabel Milian, Step children Roxanne Milian, Zorina, Tony and John Paul Robinson. Step grandchildren Mikaela and Natalie Leyva. Sister Margarite J, Johnny M. Clark and nephew Johnny W. Clark. He is also survived by Mother in law Maria Luisa Milian. Godchildren Mathew Maldonado, Johnny W. Clark and Diego Barron. As well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Visitation and service will be held July 11th, 2019 a 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home – WEST. Mass of Christian Burial will be held July 12, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Parish, 400 W. Sunset Rd., El Paso, TX. Committal Service to follow at Memory Gardens of The Valley Cemetery, 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, NM.

Sir Knight URSULO MICHAEL PEREZ born December 31st 1979, a Native American Tigua / Apache heritage and with a mutual strong bond to his Grandmothers Librada Salinas Porras and Amalia Salcido Perez. Michael would do anything for his Grampa Ramon Porras, fix what ever needed fixing to include getting him fish from Long John Silvers. Michael and Peggy were inseparable and they had many Fathers, Mothers, Brothers and Sisters as they grew up with large families to include gatherings all their life’s. All the parents wanted their turn having them over their place and having adventures during their stays with their Aunts and Uncles, so there were many road trips all over.

One day when my mother was canning yellow peppers and the chiles were laid out on the table, Michael would be under the table and at the right time he would reach his hand up to the top of the table and grab chiles and started eating them. All you would hear is the crunching coming from under the table, yes it was Michael eating the chiles, didn’t seem to faze him. This is where his love of chiles started. One Christmas Michael and his Cousin Christopher got a Battery Powered USA Commando four-wheel riding Motorcycle and Michael was getting stuck at times, so I modified it by installing a forward and reverse switch and he was a happy camper. We would go to Sammy’s cabin to get away and enjoying the forest. Michael was riding his bicycle at the cabin, hit a fence, broke a wooden post, and went flying down a cliff. Uncle Sammy found a picture of a kid flying in through the air in his bike in the newspaper (ET) and He told Michael it was him, and he believed him.

We had great times camping, fishing, hunting, having fun on Jet Skis, boating and on snow days we had great fun in the snow. Michael liked riding goats, lambs, cows and horses. Michael learned to driving in the hay fields standing on the seat. I told Michael your job is driving the truck between the hay bales and don’t run over the bails while I loaded the trailer. He did an excellent job. Michael and Peggy Jo were inseparable always sticking for each other, always going places with my mom and their aunts and uncles. Michael started school at Canutillo Elementary in Canutillo Tx. Then La Union Elementary, Michael was diagnosed with juvenile Diabetes at the age of 9 years and made a statement, my name is not Diabetes my name is Ursulo Michael Perez and God created me. Michael had several movie rolls like; sports announcer, home commercials, and in Conformation Class at St Patrick’s Church in Canutillo, he played JESUS in JESUS SUPER STAR, he lost his mustache and Nena tells him how did you lose it, don’t worry Yvonne has an eyeliner in Her purse she will fix it. Later in years Yvonne’s son yells Hay Jesus to Michael at some local place. Michael played football for the Anthony Cowboys, Santa Teresa Junior High where they played in the sand bowl. Michael started High School at Gadsden and was involved in football, FFA, Ag farm where he planted hay for one of his projects, and played Golf in school. When his Uncle Nacho Orozco came in to the El Paso area for the S. Mena El Paso Country Club Caddies Memorial Golf Tournament Uncle Nacho would always pick Michael to be in his team. Michael would share the stories his Uncle would tell him while on the golf course. One of them was when Uncle was in Germany running the back-line sweeps, Uncle and his partner were combing the area through vehicles and buildings looking for the enemies. During their sweeps, Uncle found a Guitar and strapped on is back and his partner found a wine bota bag strapped it to his back and began moving out, shortly after they came under fire and both started running for cover. While reaching their cover uncle’s guitar took a hit, and his partners bota took a hit, Uncle’s buddy mentioned I’m hit I’m hit and bleeding, Uncle looks at his Buddy and tell him, no you dummy, (this is not the actual words Uncle used) it your bota that’s leaking. One day while Michael was attended New Mexico State and a had digital mechanical drafting homework assignment and he asked me for help, this was a newer drafting software than what I had used, Auto Cad which had totally different commands. I told Michael I need to learn all new commands to help you. Michael was a member of the La Union Fire Department. Michael would go with me TDY; Albuquerque, Socorro NM, China Lake CA, and Yuma AZ, we would take the Honda Four-Trax to go off roading to include Imperial Dunes. During a TDY trip to Yuma Michael would help my co-worker’s families Armando Sanchez and David Chavez with the driving. Auntie Tillie asked Michael to come to San Diego and he worked at Marriott La Joya. Michael worked on the cell phone towers and loved being way up on the towers enjoying the sceneries and taking pictures. The last places were, the Rio Grande Valley Mountains in Colorado, North Carolina and South Carolina. Michael got on a crew to rebuild during hurricane Catrina at New Orleans. During one of Michael’s trips he was amazed by the Rhino Beatle’s strength. He had a great time grilling on the disco and the love to Grill and Cook anything. Michael was a MacGyver always figuring out ways to fix with what was available when no parts were available to make it happen to help people no matter the request, even just to listen. Michael loved being around camp fires to include the back yard, watching the stars, Sun Sets and Sunrises. One day I asked Michael if he would like to join the Knights of Columbus and he said yes. Michael was always willing to helping anyone who asked him for help, it didn’t matter what time, where or what the request was, he would figure out what it would take to help. Michael’s motto always be humble and kind, always helping people in any way he could, even just listing and offering his advice.

Michael was one of the core group at Knight of Columbus events like; Christmas Food Basket Drives, Sunday Breakfast, and Lenten Fish Fry’s. After the Fish Fry Michael would tell me, dad lets go to Adoration so we would both go for an hour. Sometimes Michael would go on his own. We had more road trips, we went to Odessa / Midland Texas for a Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Provential meeting, we had a great time. Michael’s Nephew God Son Johnny William Clark was graduating from High School, so we headed out Grand Forks ND, we had a great time. Michael would spend time at my parents’ graves, mainly because he missed his grandmother Amalia and spent nights and constantly visited his Grandparents home in Canutillo. The day we got back to Canutillo from Grand Forks, Michael went to the home and called me, Hay Dad someone stole the Camaro. We filed a report and later was recovered.

Michael met the love of his life Mabel and got married, became an instant Dad and

Grand Dad. So, they had several road trips watching sun sets, sun rises from the desert, going to the forest, going fishing, cooking and grilling. Showing them God’s beautiful creations, he loved so dearly. I will miss him, but I know God has a Great Angel and a good warrior at his side And I know He is not alone. He is with our departed Loved ones.

When I Get to Where I’m Going on the far side of the sky, I will ride a rain drop and I will only have Happy Tears Walking with my Grand Daddy and all those he loves so much. Be Humble and kind.
