Linda served in the Marine Corp from 1959-1961. She retired from Kodak. She had worked at Whirlpool, where she met her husband, Jerry in 1969. Linda was an avid bowler. She loved to gamble, play the slot machines and cards, especially clabber. Linda loved to travel. She was very proud that she had been to all 50 states, seven different countries, and the Caribbean Islands. She had been on seven cruises.
Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Gayle McCullough-Romero; sisters, Mary Emma Coomes (Purdy), Rose Marie Coomes (Purdy), and Dorothy Jean Main (Purdy); and a brother James Norman Purdy.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jerry; children, Larry McCullough (Barbara) of Memphis, TN, Linda Denise Pfister of Evansville, Christopher Blake (Amanda) of Newburgh, IN, and James-Michael Blake (Shaneen) of Evansville; grandchildren, Jennifer Toomey (Sean), Jessica McCullough, Tamarea Kramer, Zachary Pfister, Emily Blake, Cory Blake, and Madelynn Blake, Caleb Blake and Joe Blake; great grandchildren, Kate Toomey and Will Toomey; brother, Michael Harold Purdy, and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Alexander East Chapel, with entombment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
