On September 15, 2018 Dale Albert Huebner, Sr. departed this earthly life after a brief, but courageous, battle with cancer. He was born October 14, 1936 in Detroit Michigan to Melburn E. & Gertrude E. Huebner. Dale met and later married his loving wife of 60 years Patricia (Pat) Lola (nee Bergman) in 1952. He graduated from Wayne State University, MI with a Bachelor’s of Electrical Engineering. They relocated to Alexandria, Virginia in 1959, where he pursued his career in defense contracting, working on many special projects, including the Apollo space missions. Throughout his life he studied American and World History and pursued genealogy research on his extended family. He appreciated classical music, particularly pipe organs, attending many different concerts and events. He shared his interest in National Parks, particularly those out west, with his family through many camping trips, appreciating the beauty of this nation and teaching his children valuable life lessons along the way. Later in life he pursued his passion for sports cars through car shows and driving experiences.
His family and friends will always remember his courage, unique sense of humor, generosity of self and love of family. He will always be in their hearts and thoughts.
In addition to his wife Pat, Dale is survived by his daughter Brooke E. Johnson (Jeff), sons David M. Huebner (Lesley Drury) and Dale A. Huebner, Jr. (Rita Juergens), grandchildren Joseph L. Johnson, Meret Thomas-Huebner, Nikki Huebner, Clair Spatt and Piper Huebner, brother Melburn E. Huebner, Jr. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dale was predeceased by his parents and sister Joann Weideman (Bernard).
The family will be receiving visitors on October 6, 2018 at 1 p.m., with a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, Fairfax City, VA. Reception to follow.
