

Nestor I. Cirino died at the age of 82 on June 5, 2018, due to complications from Alzheimer's at Diana’s Care Home in Hayward, California. He was born on February 7, 1936, in Vieques, Puerto Rico and is the son of Felipe Cirino and Aurora Rivera.
Nestor grew up in Vieques and moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1952, to live with his sister, America. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1958 (Travis Air Force Base - Fairfield, California). While in the Air Force, he served as a Military Police Officer and was a member of the boxing team.
Nestor had various jobs while living in San Francisco from 1958 to 1965. He started his career with PG&E in December of 1965 and retired after more than 40 years of employment.
Nestor was always ambitious. He learned to build ham radios, obtained a Private Pilot's license and Instrument Rating, joined the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and took great pleasure in maintaining his numerous boats. He also took great pride in his friendship with Bill W., since 1988.
Among his most favorite pastimes were sailing on the San Francisco Bay with family and friends, spending time with his beloved dogs, dancing and listening to salsa music, cooking great food and playing chess. Nestor always lit up the room with his charm and humor.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, America and brother, Ivan. He is survived by his wife, Ardelle and his children, Anita, Luvina, LaVonya, Lydia and Phillip. Other surviving family members include his siblings, Luis, Pedro (Tino), Berndino (Nando), Jose (Che), Teodoro (Teddy), Victor (Papo), Carmen (Mary), Aurora (Dotty) and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Interment services will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California on June 27th at 10:00 am. The family invites relatives and close friends to share in conversation and a buffet lunch after the services at the Fuso Restaurant, 535 Main Street in Vacaville.
