
Maxine Johnson, age 80, of Middletown, passed away Saturday at the Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Muses Mill, Kentucky, December 16, 1929, the daughter of Clayton and Norma Fields, and moved to Knightstown, Indiana, where she graduated high school in 1947. She had worked as a Center Manager for Junior Achievement, and for 18 years in the office of Dr. Stephan Zelling. An active member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, she was a former member of Psi Iota Psi in Knightstown, Indiana. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, William H. Johnson; two sisters, Mary Wyatt Roland husband, George of Greenfield, Indiana, and Mildred Snyder husband, Robert of Dayton, OH; and by several nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Tammi Jo Johnson, preceded her in death in 1981. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 3, at the Church of the Ascension, with The Rev. Elaine Caldbeck, Rector, officiating. A reception will follow at the church immediately following services. Graveside services and burial will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, Indiana.
