Barbara "Barbi" Ann (Horton) Hagerty

Barbara Ann Hagerty of Gainesville, VA, entered the Lord’s house on July 20th, 2022. Barbi was born in Fort Belvoir, VA on September 17th, 1966, and was the oldest child of Robert & Verne Horton. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents; Thelma Sue Ellmore, Floyd Lester Ellmore, Hazel Bell Horton, Her mother-in-law Irene Torres Hagerty, and her brother-in-law, Walid Kamel. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, James W. Hagerty II; her children: James William Hagerty III (Vanessa Hagerty), Lenzi DeMello (Aaron DeMello) and Connor Hagerty (Kasie Hagerty); 6 grandchildren; Angeline Hagerty, Isabella Hagerty, Hayden Hagerty, Grant DeMello, Gabriella DeMello, and Dale Hagerty as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a devoted mother, titi, aunt, cousin, niece, sister, and friend, not only to her family, but to anyone in need and anyone she met. There was always room at the table and in Barbi’s heart for more. Barbi’s love and compassion for others' needs has transformed the lives of so many. She leaves a legacy of love behind that is an example for us all. She never met a stranger, any and everyone was welcomed in her home. From supermarket workers, gas station attendants, strays that became forever family members, and patients. They were all treated and loved as family. She helped so many people as they overcame their circumstances, got them back on the right track, gave them the tools, support, and love to succeed. She never missed a moment to encourage anyone and would drop everything to help someone in need. Although we are completely heartbroken at Barbi’s unexpected passing, we take comfort knowing that she is dancing in the sky and has entered His house and now is reunited with those who went before her. She will forever remain in our hearts and in our memories. We thank God for the beautiful angel watching over us.
