July 19, 1967 - April 25, 2018
Our dear son Danny is home now.
He went to be with Jesus at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 after being on home hospice for eight days. He fought a valiant fight with cancer since 2009. He was so very brave throughout all the surgeries and years of chemo then chemo pills which were worse. The side effects put him in the hospital many times for weeks at a time. Through it all he never complained and was always concerned for others.
After graduating from McLane High School, Danny attended Fresno City College for one year. After which he joined the army. The recruiter told him he could be a linguist and had a slot for him in Monterey, California. They were waiting for Danny to get out of basic training but he kept getting sick. He was promoted to PFC but ended up with an honorable discharge because of his health.
It was on July 31, 1987, after he recovered, he finished his degree at City College. Graduating on May 21, 1993 with an Associates of Science Library Technician Degree with honors. On August 7, 1992, Danny graduated from Fresno City College with an Associate of Arts Business Administration Degree. He also took several classes at Fresno State. Danny worked several different jobs during this time. He worked at Genco return center for Best Buy for 11 years.
Danny was a lay reader at Saint James and served as LEM up until he became ill. He loved helping at church and everyone he served with. He enjoyed bowling with his team and belonged to IPMS Fresno State Modlers.
He liked all kinds of music, including country, gospel and opera especially Pavarotti and the three Tenors.
Danny was a wonderful son, kind loving and thoughtful. We are so proud of him and loved him dearly.
Our hearts are broken but we are glad that his terrible suffering is over now and he is at peace with Jesus, as well as family and friends who have gone before. Once again he'll smile his beautiful joyful smile that everyone loved.
We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who have been so kind all through this long journey especially Dr. Estrada, his nurses Lira and Anthony and Dr. Monson. The doctors and nurses at St. Agnes especially the 1R Dept, Dr. Tower(Dannys favorite doctor) and nurse practitioner Julie and Linda who are wonderful. We thank them all so very much. - The Fahernbacher Family
A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
