Ms. Evelyn was one of my favorite people to see whenever I came in to work at Savannah Commons. She was fun and witty. She truly brightened up the place. I will miss her smile and her sense of humor. My condolences to Judy and all of the family.

My dear sweet family I send you all my love and prayers.  Your Mom was a great gal she always ran to me with such Joy to see me and that always made me feel so very special. She was alot of fun so strong and responsible.  We will all miss her sweet smile.

i knew Evelyn for a short time at Savannah Commons.  We shared meals and laughter together.  She made many friends.  She will be missed.  She is a jewel in Heaven, no doubt of that.  My prayers are with the family.  Love in Christ, Gail Thurman

What a wonderful living testimony of faith.  Your Mom was one of the greatest women I ever had the pleasure of knowing and loving and sharing life with.  I will always remember her laughter and smiles.  Her humor was contagious and she had a way of making you see the good in all things.  My life has forever been changed for knowing and loving her. Thanks for sharing your Mom with me. I love you all and am somewhat jealous that she gets to join those that have gone before us. She has received her reward!

If there's one thing anyone could say about my Granny, it's that she was a giver. She would give anything she could to those around her, to help them, to comfort them, or even just because you wanted something she had.. she would give it to you to make you happy. Her happiness and pure joy in life came from her ability to be able to give to those she loved. She'd give you her time if you were lonely, she would give you money if you were poor or just needed some gas to get home, she would give you food if you were hungry. She would give and give, and some could say she would give until it hurt. The thing about her is, it could never hurt her to give something to someone. It just filled her with joy. She would give you whatever she could, whenever she could. She'd go out of her way to give. She may not have always been 100% happy every day, but she was 100% happy to give if she could. I feel in some way, she gave her last breath and bit of strength to her family, just so she could say she loved us one more time. She would give us everything if she could. She gave me my most treasured memory of all, saying I love you. Not a lot of people get that from their loved ones before they go. But we were fortunate for that. I'll always remember her for that. And she is without a doubt, the most giving person I will ever meet. 

I'll miss you granny.

Lamar, Judy and Joyce, and spouses and family, your mother was the last of her generation for our family, it has been a long road for her to walk, now she can be with your dad and her brothers and sisters as well as grandmama and grandaddy, it will be 10 years on the 23rd of February since our dad, her brother, Wilbur Bell,  (Marie and Leila) passed away, i guess he got tired of waiting for evelyn, they can continue their sibling debate in Heaven, all our love Leila Bell, Marie Bell Lewis, Horace Lewis, our children and grandchildren, we will keep you in our prayers.
