

Wynema Delano Vogel was born September 15, 1935 in Fairview, Alabama. Her parents soon moved to Cloverdale, Alabama where she grew up. She graduated from Central High School in 1954.
After high school she attended Florence State University, (now UNA) where she earned her Bachelor’s degree. She later obtained her Master’s degree in Business Education from the University of Montevallo.
In 1963 she began her career at Mortimer Jordan High School in Morris, Alabama. She moved with her family to Gardendale, Alabama and began her celebrated career teaching students the techniques of professional business administration, as well as character, etiquette, and the importance of excellence. She was the sponsor for The Future Business Leaders of America at Mortimer Jordan her whole career and had numerous outstanding student winners, at local, state and national levels. She helped shape the lives of many young people over the years. Not only did she teach, she actively sought out and connected with employers to help her students find careers.
In her personal life, she was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also an active community member. She enjoyed participating in numerous social and professional organizations as well as her beloved church Gardendale First Baptist. Some of the organizations she was a part of include: Business and Professional Women’s Association, Garden Dale Garden Club, Civitans, and The Alpha Delta Kappa organization. She was also a member of the Gardendale Beautification Committee.
Wynema was an encourager and prayer warrior. She loved Jesus and she served as a Bible teacher over the years in different age groups. She was serving The Joy Class, she called them her Joy Warriors, when she became severely ill and passed away on August 9th, 2025 at 89 years of age.
Wynema is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Stanley and Essie Delano, and her husband Eddie Vogel. She is survived by her son Greg Vogel, her daughter Dawn Vogel, her grandson Drew Vogel, and her granddaughter Amanda Vogel.
She was an extraordinary lady of grace, beauty, and character. She loved easily and forgave quickly. She was our treasure.
Services will be held at Rideout’s in Gardendale, Alabama. Visitation is Wednesday, August 13th. Family 5:00pm, Friends 6:00-8:00pm. The Funeral will be August 14th at 2:00pm.
