“Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31:29
Our beloved mother, Inez “Nez” Landry, passed peacefully on March 11, 2022, at the age of 102 years old. Born January 11, 1920, she was small in stature however a large presence in the world. Nez was the first to retire from the First National Bank in Donaldsonville. After retirement she enjoyed mowing her grass on her Snapper riding lawn mower, her weekly Bingo games, and her beautiful flowers. She loved to sew, crochet and embroidery along with reading. She spent a lot of time sitting on her porch as she took pride in her River Road home. She enjoyed playing the poker machines and the bus trips to the casinos. It was on these trips she was given the nickname “Dr. Ruth.” She was known to tell a joke and to be the life of the party. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Roques (Bobby Edgar) and Pam Dykes (Jimmy Dykes) and son-in-law Peter Roques, her sister, Elsie Czerny and brother, Ernest George LeBlanc. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clement Howell Landry, her parents, Joseph LeBlanc and Linda Bergeron LeBlanc and sisters and brothers, Ruth Borne, J.P. LeBlanc, Marie Templet, Sammy LeBlanc, and Bobby LeBlanc. As per her wishes she will be cremated with a private ceremony to follow at a later date. We are thankful for the love and care she received at Magnolia Assisted Living Facility. Alima Harry, Tammy Duhon and the entire staff saw her as family. Also, we appreciate the nurses and staff of Clarity Hospice especially Terry Washington and Lacie Comeaux for the exceptional care shown to our mother. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to DAARC, 1030 Clay Street, Donaldsonville, La 70346 in her honor.
