June, my beautiful friend,  I  think of  you so often! I treasure the lunches we shared, the TOPS meetings, and the time spent with you in general. That beautiful smile, your colorful clothes, your love of everything Disney - I miss it all!

Mom Larsen means so much to me and the rest of the family.  Through love, she helped me understand what it was to be married, have children, raise children and guide them as they left our home.  Her remarkable bond with her children and grandchildren has demonstrated how I need to live my life in the future. She showed me the importance of supporting her community as she took leadership positions in various organizations. 

Her life lessons and love cannot  be taken from us. To me she lives on.  She lives on in the love that she gave to all of us on earth.  It does not feel like she left us, but she seems even closer to us now.  Mom now has the power to be with all of us at once through our thoughts.  She will be with us as we need her.  Our conversations with her, similar to a prayer now, will always make her available to listen to our concerns and joys. She will lead us into the future with her knowledge of her new life.  If we listen with our heart, we will be guided by her loving spirit and know that she is closer to each one of us.  My heart is full of the love and thanks I have for what she has given us.  Our love for Mom can only grow.

     As I sit here looking at my beautiful mother this morning, holding her hand and stroking her hair, I have been reflecting, especially about the last 6 years. We had so many ups and downs with her health and it tested us both. Through these times she taught me strength, courage and resilience . She trusted in me to be their for her every step of the way. That has made our bond unbreakable and our love so very deep. It has been a honor and privilege to serve and care for Mom. We've become so close and we adore each other. We had our special nick names. She was my "Mama Bean" and I was her "Baby Bean". I will miss the daily phone calls to each other to make sure that both of us were okay. I will miss spoiling her. Sharing her favorite cheeses, fresh fruits, chocolates a glass of wine, beer or a cocktail. I will especially miss our annual vacation to Treasure Island, taking her out in the beach buggy to watch the sunsets.
     Our mother is the embodiment of purity, innocence, love, strength, courage, faith, spirit and adventure.   Mom has left a huge legacy for this family. With all of her love, all of her teachings, all of her words, all of her hugs and kisses. Everything about her she has transcended into each and every one of us. Mom is the light of my life. I will miss her dearly. I am comforted in knowing that she is on a new journey. One that she gets to share with Dad, her babies, her mother and father, her siblings, her grand parents and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that she will bring the joy that she's brought here on earth to the heavens above. She is the pearl in my oyster and the treasure in my chest. She is my "Viking Warrior". I love her dearly, more than I could ever say or have imagined. She is my heart, my soul and the light of my life. I'm so grateful she is my mother. I don't just love my mother, I am in love with my mother. What a Beautiful thing!!                     





Mom’s circle of life has been completed. She lived a robust life being rewarded in many ways. She lived her life in a way that touched all of us in some special way. Mom’s goal in life was to have a family. She was blessed to have 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She lived her life for her family. She cared for and nurtured all of us. Mom held us, rocked us gave us everything we needed to thrive in life and spirit; good moral values, a spirit of adventure and most important, unconditional love. Her family traveled from all over the country to pay their last respects.

We have all learned so much from her over the years, by her teachings, example and wisdom. As a family, we have embraced those learnings and passed them down to two more generations.
Mom had an aura about her; the bright colors she wore, seeing everything through rose colored glasses, her endearing smile that captured the hearts of all. She traveled the country and the world. To a life well lived!

Mom’s new adventure is just beginning. We can’t imagine what she will be up to now.

I came across this quote "The best gift a mother can give her child is the gift of herself",  & this immediately made me think of Don's Mom, June.  

She always gave so greatly & freely  to her children & then her grandchildren, making each one feel loved & special. When great grandchildren came along, she was so happy & excited to open her arms to them as well. 

This wonderful woman touched many lives & will be missed so much! 



What can I say about Mom?  For one, she had a big heart, perhaps the biggest.  For an another - her love was pure & unconditional. She cared about everything I went through - as a child, as I grew up and as an adult. 

She was my spiritual guiding light and the backbone of my Christian faith. She was always encouraging, always available & at times, constructively probing. She led her life with a moral compass and with an eternal focus. 

One of the many things I admire most about Mom was the things she did to stay connected to her family. For example, learning to play golf and to ski.  Another is her learning to use technology - computers, online, email, texting, Skype - you name it.  She so treasured being part of her family's activities - she didn't want to miss anything.  And by God's grace & favour, she did not!!  She made sure she was available & relevant to the newer generations.  

One of the lasting signature memories of what defines Mom is singing the 'Happy Birthday' song over the phone to all her loved ones. She was doing that right up to the end! 

I leave you with a quote from someone unknown that my dear wife dug out of her inspirational books:  'A mother holds her children's hands for a while, but their hearts forever.'

God bless you Mama!  You will be so missed!  See you again some day!

Some initial thoughts came to me that Saturday when Mom passed:
1.	Her Values – and instilling them in her family
2.	Her love – and how everyone loved her
3.	Leadership – a quietly quality of which many may not even have been aware.
At almost the same time, granddaughter Georgia posts a wonderful tribute to her Grandmother, highlighting:
Family Values and Unconditional love
That those traits, reiterated by one of her granddaughters highlights the success of passing them down into another generation.

A good description for Mom’s love is the special relationship she had with her grandchildren; each and every one of them, in their own way.  This was not created by GrandMa spoiling them with “things”, but spoiling them with so much time, love and attention.  She would listen, read, play and do for what seemed like hours on end.
This special bond she created with the grandkids seems to have created something special between them, as despite the difference in age and distance, there is this closeness they have with one another, that sometimes makes it seem they grew up right down the street from each other.

As I look out, I am optimistic and see much that is good; however I also see societal problems in our country and deem these to be rooted in the breakdown of the American family unit.  As I look within and around me this morning, I see nothing but good strong families, seeded, fostered and nurtured by one, June Carol Larsen.

June was an important person especially in my youth. My brother Peter and I spent a lot of time with June and Roger. They were positive influences then and will always have a special place in my heart. June was not just a great older sister, she was also a good friend.

Love you sis!

Aunt June  will always remain in our hearts as the kindest and loveliest of people.  What fond memories we have of being with and gleaning from her gracious and beautiful presence! The lives she has touched and enriched will continue to bloom just from knowing this exquisite lady. 

Our prayers & thoughts are with you & your family in this sad moment.  June was simply the best. She was kind, friendly, funny & a joy to be around her.  She will certainly be missed by us.  We will never forget her. She has now gone to be with the love of her life forever. Rest in peace, June.

June has been a special part of my life for 68 years! - a great sister-in-law  and loyal friend.  I have wonderful memories of our times together. My love and prayers are with all her family. Thank you for sharing her life with me and for all your kindness. Roger picked well!

We knew both George and June from here at the Woodlands at Church Lake. They were both such kind souls. We always enjoyed visiting with them. We know that June will be missed by many as George is. Now they are together again.  Jack and Lois Reeder

Prayers for the Larsen family. June was a beautiful, gracious and sweet lady. She was so proud of her wonderful family and showed off their beautiful photos when we were together.  I enjoyed every minute I spent with her.  June and George are together again. What a wonderful legacy they created!

I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother.   My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.   Christina, I will always remember how happy she looked when I saw you together at the Andrea Bocelli concert, I am so happy she was able to share that lovely experience with you.
