Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, followed by burial at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Doris.
Doran D. ""Bud"" Randall
January 9, 1927 - January 24, 2014
Bud Randall, son of Irwin and Frieda White Randall, was born in Agra, KS, January 9, 1927. He died peacefully at home on January 24, 2014, after a short battle with cancer.
He attended school in Agra until enlisting in the Navy at age 17 to serve his country in WWII. He received his honorary high school diploma from Palisade High School in 2004.
After serving in the Pacific Theatre he returned to Kansas to train as a Baker using the GI Bill. On April 1, 1951, he married his beloved wife Doris. In 1953 they moved to Walsenburg, CO to open Randall's Bakery. The next year they moved on to Cortez where Bud worked first at Vita Kist Bakery and then at City Market. Bud was Bakery Manager in Cortez, until moving to Grand Junction with his promotion to Director of Bakery Operations in 1977. He retired after 27 years at City Market in 1987.
Bud and Doris enjoyed 20 years of active retirement wintering at River Lodge Resort enjoying fishing, golfing, woodcarving, and happy hours with numerous friends. He was very proud to have decorated all of his granddaughter's wedding cakes. Summer fishing in Alaska, cruises to the Mediterranean and the Panama Canal were especially memorable.
Bud is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris; daughters, Debbie (Frank), and Pat (Harry); sons, Douglas, and Mickey (Sue); four sisters; one brother; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. January 30, at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary followed by interment at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery with full Military Honors.
