My earliest memory of Phyllis was shedding flower pedals as I walked down the aisle at Sandy & Phyllis’ wedding. I remember how much she loved her boys (Sandy, Alan, & David) and how thrilled she was when they married Jen & Monica. When we exchanged emails in recent years, she kevelled about her adorable grandchildren. She will be missed by all of us.

Dearest Sandy, Alan and Jen, David and Monica and your precious grandsons,

Phyllis and I met in Miss Semat's second grade class at PS 26.  Ever since then, we lived in our Moms' kitchens.  It was at Harriet's kitchen and with Harriet's assistance that we spent two days creating the most detailed project, "King Cotton."  So amazing that it received the Principal's attention!

Given our different paths, our friendship remained: we were zoned for different high schools; graduated and attended different universities, and subsequently, resided in different states with our families. Although my path encompassed Texas, Florida and California, we made sure to share each other's mazels and losses, including Phyllis' courage in defeating her earlier, medical issues.

It is with great sadness and personal struggle to accept that my attendance at Phyllis' Final Resting will be from afar... with both grief and smiles of beautiful memories of Phyllis' magnificient eyes, wide smile, generous laughter and our shared family experiences as parents and  grandparents.

May you rest in peace, "Pheel," my dear friend.

Although friends may come and go throughout the years, a friendship that endures over almost six decades is something very, very special.  We have always been there for each other… to share the joys as well as the trials and tribulations of life. Phyllis, I can’t believe you are gone. I will miss you so much and you will always have a special place in my heart. My deepest condolences to your loving and devoted husband, Sandy, and to Alan (Jen) and David (Monica), your two wonderful sons who you were so very proud of, along with your beautiful grandchildren.
