Maria D. Campos

Maria Dolores Campos , long term resident of Greenwich passed away peacefully on April 24. She was born on January 14, 1926 in El Salvador to the late Gregorio Campos and Filomena Gallardo. From a young age she felt in charge to help her parents and siblings.

In the 70's she moved to Greenwich to assist her family. Later on she brought her brother Jose R. Campos. They had a very close relationship. She also brought other nephews and nieces and she was always loving to them. She was the matriarch of the family.

Maria worked as a housekeeper and nanny. She enjoyed playing dominos with family and friends, gardening and good food. She enjoyed going to Island Beach and Todd's Point for long walks. She was a devoted Catholic, and she was independent. Even in her 90's she drove to church very early in the morning and then to Bruce Park to exercise.

Aunt, I hope that that you are enjoying heaven with your parents and siblings. We are eternally thankful to you.

The family will celebrate Maria's life on Wednesday, April 29th from 1-2pm at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT 06830. A Catholic prayer service will begin a 2pm.
