Jayne Marie Nelson

Jayne Marie Nelson, 84, of Grove City passed away on January 5, 2023. She was born to the late Edward and Gladys (Baker) Nelson in Cedar Falls, Iowa on October 21, 1938. She was also preceded in death by Gerald Nelson (brother) and Marion Dunn (sister).

She worked for many years as a Counselor for the Anderson Center of St. John’s Adolescent Program. She graduated from Purdue University Calumet with her bachelor’s degree, Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis with her Master’s in social work. Her work touched the lives of many.

An avid world traveler, Jayne really enjoyed learning about world cultures and customs that supported her belief for diversity, compassion, and kindness.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Dena) Brotherton; daughter, Melissa (Jeffrey) Craig; granddaughters, Erin (Joseph) Zarlino, Cassandra (Edward) Hunt, and Brittany (William) Reynolds; granddaughter Michelle (Michael) Blake; great grandchildren, Stella and Jeremiah Zarlino and Sophia and Victoria Blake.

A graveside service will take place at a later date at Kahoka Cemetery, Kahoka, Missouri. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY.
