She was born on April 7, 1918 in Piqua, Ohio to Thomas and Alice (Lord) Nightingale. Lucile attended Hamilton Schools. On March 9, 1935, she married Walter Robert Reed in Latonia, Kentucky. He passed away on May 13, 1997. Lucile was a devoted member of St. John’s United Church of God, where she served on the board for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, and singing. Lucile loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters Judith (Sandy Clift) Brewer and Joanne Hampton; grandchildren Gary (Leah) Hampton, Heather (Don) Hampton-Ashley, Krista (Charlie) Hampton-Thompson; great grandchildren Hayden Reed Ashley, Eleanor Marie Ashley, William Reed Hampton; and many nieces and nephews. Lucile was preceded in death by her husband, children Jeannette Alice Reed and Alan Walter Reed, sisters Hilda Black and Florence Scherrer, and her parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 7pm until 9pm at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Don Ashley officiating. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 5211 Madison Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45227 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 644 Linn St # 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203.
