James was born May 17, 1932 in Hampton, Virginia to Bessie Whiting and Thomas Whiting.
James is survived by his daughter Janet Rinaldi.
James was preceded in death by his father Thomas Whiting and his mother Bessie Whiting.
A visitation and celebration of life for James will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, VA 23666. Following the visitation and celebration of life will be an entombment to follow service at 2:00 PM at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Rd., Hampton, VA 23666.
