Shirley June Craig “PeeWee” passed away peacefully on October 27, 2016 with her daughter, granddaughter and great-grandchildren by her side. Shirley did everything she could to get better, but her poor body just wouldn’t let her.
Shirley was born November 22, 1938 to Bud and Euna Todd in Hanford and lived and went to school in Armona. Shirley enjoyed traveling and bowling on Thursday and Friday leagues for many years. The joy of her life for many years as her only daughter and only granddaughter until she was blessed with 2 great-grandchildren and they quickly took their place. Shirley was always at their games cheering them on and when the games were close she would sneak off and pace the hallways until the game was over.
Shirley worked for Hanford Justice as extra help in 1967 until 1969 when she started working for the Kings County Health Department as a secretary and then x-ray technician until she retired in July 2011. In 1986 Shirley also opened a jewelry store in the bowling alley she called “Shirley’s Jewelry Exchange.”
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Bud and Euna Todd and sister Betty Pendergraft, her late husbands Donald Keefover and Allen Craig, and Barragain, her beloved dog.
Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory her only child Ronette (Hickey) Barela of Hanford, her only grandchild Valerie Moroles and husband Joe Moroles of Lemoore, her two pride and joys Brianna Moroles and Christopher Garcia of Lemoore; also Andrew and Eric Moroles, as well as her ex son-in-law Valdo Garcia who always had a place in her heart. She also leaves her two precious dogs Petie and Scooter.
It will be a hard basketball season for us not having her there, but we know she is in no more pain and will be there in spirit cheering them on.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery; 11680 S. 10th Ave, Hanford, Ca with a reception to follow.
