Annice M. Ward, 99, of Harrisburg, originally from Valley View, Schuylkill County, passed peacefully from this earthly realm on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at her home. She was the widow of William W. Ward, Sr.
Ann was the last of ten children born to Elvin and Minnie (Klouser) Herb on May 18, 1922, and sadly her father was killed in a coal mining accident before she was born. She graduated from Hegins Township High School in 1940. She enjoyed playing the piano at home, singing at home and at church, and had a beautiful alto voice. Ann spent many mornings at the Harrisburg East Mall walking and was dubbed as the Belle of the Mall by her walker friends. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons Bill and Rodney, Rodney's wife Cindy and great grandson T.J. Douville. She is survived by her daughter Deb (Scott) Shepler, Bill's wife Mary, three granddaughters, Beth Ward, Monette (Adam) Benkowitsch and Venus (John) Becker, two great grandsons, Ryan (Marissa) Becker, and Dylan Becker, one great great granddaughter, Madison Becker, and Patti Shrawder her dedicated, longstanding, home health aide.
Burial will be at the family's convenience, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
