Barbara Paulette Cross Johnson Bennett

Born in Newsoms, Southampton County, VA on November 14, 1945, the daughter of the late Rev. Willie Paul and Mary Eliza (Ellsworth) Cross.

She was retired from the Lancaster School District.

Barbara was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she donated time as a volunteer.

She loved praying, drawing and writing poetry.

Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life.

She was the widow of the late Kent Davie Johnson and Alonzo Murry Bennett, Jr..

Surviving is her son, Katron D. Johnson of Ruther Glen, VA; 3 daughters, Edith A. Johnson of Johnstown, PA, LaVina D. Johnson and Paula M. Johnson, both of Lancaster, PA; 3 brothers, Earnest A. Johnson of Prince George, VA, Bishop Richard Cross, Jr. of Hopewell, VA and Theodore Cross of Massachusetts; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 701 Lime St., Lancaster, PA 17602. There will be a viewing from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday at the church.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
