

Born September 14, 1925, in Sheboygan, WI, he was the son of the late Otto and Helen (Biwan) Tresp. Romy was also predeceased by his brother Leo P. Tresp.
Mr. Tresp served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Upon, graduating high school in 1943, he joined the Army Air Corps and was stationed on Angaur Island in the Palau Islands close to the equator, Saipan and Hickam Field, HI. Following his tour of duty in 1946, Romy became a manufacturer’s representative for numerous lawn and garden equipment dealers. His territory included Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Maine, and the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec in Canada. During one of his business trips to Toronto, he met his future wife Lark Schneider. They were married in Toronto, on August 14, 1965.
Romy was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #12811. He loved all sports, but his all time favorite was golf. In Romy’s retirement years, he spent many happy hours on the course with two special golf buddies Marshall Davis and George Gekas.
Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Lark; his beloved son and daughter in law, Todd and Jennifer Tresp and his granddog Snickers of State College; sister, Dorothy (Dick) Bahr of Sheboygan, WI; sister in law, Marilyn Tresp of Sheboygan WI; brother and sister in laws, Nugent and Dawn Schneider of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Romy’s extended family include 8 nieces, Jan, Kathy, Patti, Carla, Mary Jo, Laura, Maureen, and Sunni; 6 nephews, Larry, Mike, Danny, David, Graham, and Quinn; and several cousins.
Four little people brought him great joy in the latter years of his life, Logan, Joanna, Nolan, and Cooper.
A memorial service will be held 11:00am, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, at the address listed above or to American Cancer Society, Capital Area Unit, 2 Lemoyne Dr. Suite 101, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
