Jean L. McIlwain Ramsey

Jean L. Ramsey (nee: McIlwain), age 75 of Griffith, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010. She is survived by three Children: Linda Johnson, Carl "Buz" Ramsey and Scott (Linda) Ramsey all of Griffith; two grandchildren: Shawn and Elizabeth Ramsey both of Griffith; one sister, Doris (Walter) Kirleis of Valparaiso; and many friends and caregivers. Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; son, Todd; daughter, Kim; grandson, Michael; and parents: Thomas and Lillian McIlwain. Funeral services will be held Monday, february 8, 2010 at 11:30 am at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN with Chaplain Michael Pennanen, officiating. Burial Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Ramsey was an avid fisherman, camper, gardener and bird watcher. She was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School Class of 1952. Mrs Ramsey was a devoted wife and mother and especially enjoyed her grandkids. Memorial contributions may be made in Jean's loving memory to Hospice of the Calumet Area.
