Gerry Thomas, Age 50, a resident of Franklin and a native of Verdunville, LA died, Wednesday, August 26, 2009 @ Lafayette General Hospital following a short illness. Visitation will be @ Greater New Hope in Baldwin, La; Saturday, September 5th. Gerry was a dedicated fan of DALLAS COWBOYS. Visitation will be @ Greater New Hope in Baldwin, La; Saturday, September 5th. from 10:00 AM until funeral @ 1:00 PM. Burial in Oaklawn Cemetery in Franklin, La. Gerry was a dedicated fan of DALLAS COWBOYS. He leaves to cherish his memories; his spouse; Maggie J. Thomas of Franklin, La., a son; La' Troy Johnson of Dallas, Tx., seven daughters; Renee & Raynell Watts both of Morgan City, Shaquincy Perro of Patterson, Vickie Lightfoot of Franklin & Jessica Johnson(a niece he reared as his own) of Franklin, Casandra Johnson and Cellie Smith both of Humble, Tx., four sisters; Jean B. Darby of Verdunville, Karen Hawkins of Franklin, Faye Coleman & Greta Francis both of Baldwin, eight brothers; Henry Thomas, Jr. of Baldwin, Sherman Thomas of Jeanerette, Rickey Thomas of Centerville, Wayne Thomas & Carl Ray Hawkins both of Verdunville, Harry Lee Thomas of St. Martinville, John Hawkins of Dallas, Tx., and Ron Hawkins of Kansas City, Missouri and thirteen grandchildren
