

He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. In 1944, Bert married his wife Rosalie and they celebrated 71 years of marriage on September 16, 2015. Bert retired from Exxon in Houston, Texas after 39 years, joining the company when it was known as Humble Oil. Bert was an ordained deacon in the Baptist church and was currently a member of Tallowood Baptist.
Bert is survived by his loving wife Rosalie; his daughters, Patricia Nolan; Nancy Shew and husband Tony; and Sheila Hintz and husband Mike; sister, Fern Mahan, brother and sister in law, Bruce and Jeanell Morrison, sisters in law, Geneva Morrison and Joyce Pope and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren; James Nolan; Marc Nolan and wife Jolynda; Dr. Amanda Juarez and husband Ruben; Angie Hamilton and husband Craig; Melissa Barron and husband Matt; Kevin Hintz and Courtney Hintz. His ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren survive him as well.
The family will receive guests for visitation and fellowship Wednesday evening, February 24, 2016 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077 from 4PM until 8PM. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2PM, in the chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Memorials can be sent to the funeral home.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, the Salvation Army, or Houston's Star of Hope Mission.
