

Beloved Child of God
Dorothy Lee Timmons Fewell, age 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at The Cottages of Clear Lake, League City, Texas. She was born on April 2, 1922, in Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of the Edgar Lee Timmons and Hazel Millsap Henderson. She was married in 1948 to Garland Moody Fewell until his death in 1994. They had three daughters during their marriage. She and Moody owned and operated the Parisian Dry Cleaners, on 4th Street, in Lubbock for many years until their retirement in 1988.
Of course, her first love was always her God. Her faith was evident in her positive attitude throughout her life. Even as her health failed and dementia set in, she vowed to always be happy. Being raised by a single mom during the depression, she treasured her family. She showered her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with unconditional love that will leave a legacy for all.
Dorothy was a long-time member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lubbock. She was also a long-time member of the choir and served as a Stephen Minister. As her health declined, she moved to Lake Bob Sandlin to be close to her daughter, Ginger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and daughters Nancy Gail Fewell Portwood and Laurie Jo Fewell Craig. She is survived by daughter Ginger Lee Fewell Shaffer (John) of Houston.
Nine grandchildren and eleven grandchildren include: Wayne Davis (Danielle) children Rosa and Owen Davis; Bryan Davis (Robin) daughter Peaches Davis; Nathan Portwood, children Kylee, Kamdyn, Karson, and Kolton Portwood; Neal Portwood (Romi); Kent Craig (Tammy) daughter Taylor Craig; Chris Craig (Florean), children Ayden and Makayla Craig, Kyle Craig (C.J.), daughter Cora Craig; Josh Craig; and Kelly Craig.
A Praise and Prayer Service in her memory will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 11, at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church, Houston, Texas.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Lubbock Texas, at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 17, 2019. (Family visitation prior to the service). She will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Moody, at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery.
