Josephine Rose Sedita, 85 years young went to meet her Heavenly Father and loving husband Sam on September 24th 2015. She was born in Hominy Falls, West Virginia on February 25th 1930 of parents John Rufus Cook and Bertha Margaret Lamon.
John and Bertha moved to Houston when Josephine was young. She would later meet her husband Sam, and would be united in marriage at Christ the King Catholic Church in April 1949. And would be blessed with 2 daughters Deborah Rose and Rebecca Jo, and grandson Ronnie Dale.
Josephine came to faith in Jesus as a little girl in Houston at the Sacred Heart Catholic School and in later years, a faithful parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church. She attended church regularly with her family and even in later years, still an important part of her life, when she was unable to attend in person; she celebrated Mass every Sunday in her home, watching on television.
Josephine worked for the city of Houston as an elevator operator at City Hall where she retired after 25 years of service.
Josephine had many hobbies and interests, but one constant through the years was watching the Houston Astros Baseball team. Rooting for the team in good years and the bad ones as well - a true diehard fan!
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Brother John, and her loving husband of 51 years, Sam Sedita.
Left to cherish her memory is daughter Deborah Rose Hickey and husband James, daughter Rebecca Jo Gaspard, grandson Ronnie Dale Sedita and wife Jenniffer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends as she was loved by many.
She will be missed greatly by those who knew her and all feel blessed to have had her in their life.
