Lois R Nichols

Lois Rankin Apel Nichols Went to be with our Lord Jesus on August 31, 2012. She was born on February 15, 1927 in Star City Arkansas. She retired in 1991, from being a Office Bookkeeper for over 50 years. She was a past President of the Ladies of Chinar Grotto in Houston, TX and the Ladies of Ben Hur Grotto in Lake Charles, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents Toney and Effie Davis Rankin, her husband of 46 years, John E. Apel, her husband of 11 years, JT Nichols. Brothers: Toney Jr, Thomas and John Rankin. Sisters: Betty Birkner, MaryAnn Wilson and Nancy Jo Sowrhever and grandchildren Sabrina Hernandez and Douglas Conrad.

She is survived by her sons: John Apel of Houston, TX & Phil Apel of Rosenberg TX. Daughters: Sharon Apel of Manvel, TX, Jean Ellis of LaPorte, TX. And Tommye Taylor of Dallas, TX. 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Brothers: Sam Rankin of Dardenelle, AR. & James Rankin of Delaware, AR. Sisters: Gladys Spakes of Erie, CO and Janice Poindexter of Brandon, FL. and all their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening September 4th from 6-9 pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 5, 2012 in the Chapel at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Interment to follow
