Charlene Kuhlwein

She lived in New Port Richey, Florida and was formerly from Hilliard, Ohio

She passed away on July 2, 2018 peacefully in her sleep.

Charlene grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from North High School in 1951. She and

her spouse, Ronnie raised their family in Hilliard, Ohio. After retiring (Ronnie from the

Columbus Police Department and Charlene from Central Ohio Credit Union) they moved to

Florida in 1985. Charlene loved anything and everything Mickey Mouse - her entire house and

car were completely decorated with Mickey’s. She loved to paint - and her color of choice was

red. Red walls, red kitchen cabinets, even red river rock around her pool. Sometimes she had

more energy than people half her age when it came to her being creative. When not up doing

DIY projects she would reconnect with her friends and family on Facebook. She loved reading

about what everyone was doing and liked to make little comments to keep in touch. She would

also play Bingo by the hours on Facebook.. Before moving to Florida she was involved in the

Hilliard Moose Lodge and became a member of the Elks Lodge in New Port Richey when she

relocated. She liked to gamble - put her in front of a Video Poker machine or a Gold Fish Slot

machine and she was content for hours on end. Sometimes she even won. She loved everyone

and everyone loved her - she could put a smile on your face in a blink of an eye. She loved her

family and friends and would do anything for them. She was known by all for her delicious

potato salad which she made on a regular basis and shared with many. Charlene was loved and

will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by: Daughter - Rhonda (Earl) Pettlo of Hudson, Florida

Son - Mike (Sandy) Kuhlwein of Newark, Ohio

Brother - David (Gale) Abbott of New Port Richey, Florida

Special Friend - Eddie Harris of Melbourne, Florida

Per her request there will be no services. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at

Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Hilliard, Ohio at a later date.

Donations can be made in her honor to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
