

Jerry Kopoian of Hudson, FL passed on January 27, 2020, at Marliere Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey. He was born September 17, 1942, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, son of the late Haigh and Mary Jane (Plante) Kopoian. He was married to Jeanne (Gromkiewicz) Kopoian on July 18, 1966, in New Hampshire.
Jerry had attended Trade School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He learned a lot of things from his late Uncle Jeff Plante who taught him how to weld. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970. Jerry was the dad of Cathy Kopoian of Washington, Jerry, Michael, and David Kopoian all of Florida; Grandfather of Lesli, Jerry (JJ), Tiffani, Kristin and Kohl all of Florida and Marc of Washington; Great Grandfather of Elizabeth and Dade of Washington, Eli Mickey of Florida; Brother of Nishan and James (Bumper) of Florida and the late Darlene Kopoian; Nephew of Pearl Facteau of R.I. and Richard Paul of Nevada; Uncle of Nishan of Florida and the late Haigh (Kopey); Great Uncle of Nicholas and Andriana of Florida and many cousins in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Pawtucket, R.I.
In 1977, Jerry and Jeanne moved their family from Pawtucket, R.I to settle in Hudson, FL. Jerry worked in the automobile industry as a mechanic for vehicles from 2-18 wheels. He had an innate ability to diagnose a problem with the vehicle just by listening. He also was a consultant with Joe Slocum for Ford Motor NASCAR Racing for many years. His avocation and relaxation was fishing… fresh water with his son Michael and salt water with his son Jerry. He was a faithful congregate of St. Michael the Archangel Church, 8014 State Road 52, Hudson, FL. He attended Saturday Vigil every 4 P.M. Mass.
There will be a Service at National Cremation & Burial Society, 13011 U.S. Highway 19 North, Hudson, FL 34667 on February 11, 2020 at 4 p.m.
There will also be a Memorial Mass Saturday, February 15, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 8014 State Road 52, Hudson, Florida followed by a light luncheon at Denton Family Diner, 9226 Denton Ave., Hudson, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marliere Hospice Care Center, 6801 Rowan Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34653.
