She was born on March 1, 1924 in Yuma, TN to the late Melburn Morris and Iva Lee Carnell Morris Keller. Married the love her life, William Jerry Tillman, to whom she was devoted for 50 years until he preceded her in death. Also preceded in death by her siblings, George Morris, Mary Wilkinson, Virginia Askew, and Milton Keller.
Took greatest pride in being a mother, housewife and grandmother. Was an amazing cook known for her cheesecake and rum cake, one of a kind peanut brittle, watermelon parties with Collier, and spectacular holiday feasts. Believed in and lived a life of service to her church and community, she volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels and work the booths on voting day. She could make any plant grow and had a beautiful backyard full of flowers where she took long walks with her grandchildren. The simplest room would come to life following a visit from her with her special decorating touch. She leaves a legacy of love, and we will miss her.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Bickel, her son, Miles, and grandchildren, Collier and AnnaKate Bickel, and Max Fenner, and sister, Jackie Warren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, from 12-1 p.m. at First Baptist Church Bemis with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
