

Jack was born in Muncie, Indiana and graduated from Royerton High School in 1955 where he was an All Star Athlete. He served for the United States Navy before joining the Muncie Police Department. He then moved to California and started the Orange County Timing Association, and spent time building and racing dragsters. Jack then turned to his love of fishing and was a contributor to several fishing publications before producing the Midwest Angler in Indiana. He then relocated to Florida where he produced and hosted the American Angler. Jack never wanted to quit working and was most recently employed by U.S. Security Associates, Inc. where he was assigned the patrol duty at World Golf Village.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jill Mero (husband John) of Jacksonville, FL, Jody DeBord of Jacksonville, FL; stepson, Jay Hammel; grandchildren, Devon and Jade; his mother, Carol DeBord Hutchinson of St. Augustine, FL; sister-in-law, Rita DeBord of St. Augustine, FL; niece, Cindy DeBord; and nephews; Mike DeBord, Eric DeBord, David DeBord and Steve DeBord. Jack was preceded in death by his father, Paul Clark (Tim) DeBord; brothers, Douglas G. DeBord and Jerry DeBord.
