

Margaret Joan (Marge) Howe, was in born in Chicago, IL on June 30, 1930. She passed away in Jacksonville, FL and entered Heaven on March 4, 2020 at the age of 89. She is now made whole after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Marge was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, George Lawrence Howe; her parents, Carl and Ellen Kylen; her brother, Steve Kylen; and her nephew, James Kylen. She will be greatly missed by all, especially her son, Steven Howe; and, her daughters, Karen Luellen and Lisa Larson; as well as grandchildren, Annie Howe-Pernezny, Pat Howe, Ben Howe, Nikki Stripe, Cassie Wisley, Alex La Rocque, Georgia La Rocque, Mae La Rocque, Megan Larson, Kyle Larson and Jamie Larson; and, great grandchildren, Emmalyn Pernezny, Harper Howe, Brynn Howe, Ryan Rich, Rebecca Wisley, and Elaina Wisley. Other surviving family members include nieces, nephews and cousins whom she deeply loved.
Marge graduated from Niles Township High School in Chicago, Illinois, and attended Western Michigan College in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she met the love of her life, George. Marge was a member of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota and most recently a member of Faith Presbyterian Church near The Villages, Florida where she and George spent their happy last years together and said they felt like they were back in college. Other places Marge and George lived were Böblingen, Germany; Goshen, Indiana; Elkhart, Indiana; Mequon, Wisconsin; Grafton, Wisconsin; and, Collierville, Tennessee. Marge was a devoted wife and mother. Outside the home, Marge worked many years as a secretary. She was most proud of her time spent at the Minnesota State Legislature and the Minnesota State Senate working for Senator Marion “Mike” Menning. Marge was also very involved in New Neighbors League and Welcome Wagon. She loved celebrating her Swedish heritage, refinishing furniture, gardening, playing bridge and crossword puzzles. Marge loved big - she enjoyed her friendships immensely, loved her family dearly, and served her risen savior, Jesus.
An anniversary memorial service is planned for March 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Maplewood, Minnesota. If you feel led please honor her with a donation to Alzheimer’s Disease Research.
