At the age of 17, Warren joined the Army and started his basic training in Fort Riley, Kansas. Once he completed his basic training, he was moved to the Mojave Desert in California. There, his Division was broken down, and D Company was transferred to the 133rd Engineer Combat Battalion. Once Warren was placed as a 133rd Engineer Combat Battalion, he left with his Combat and headed to New York. From New York they were sent on a troop ship to Ireland and then Oxford, England. On the 28th of May 1944, they were shipped from England, unaware as to where they were headed. His Combat was told they were in quarantine, but a storm came in, forcing him and his Combat to take shelter in a field nearby. The storm passed on the 3rd of June 1944, and Warren and his Combat headed to Liverpool and loaded up for D-Day. The 133rd Engineer Combat Battalion landed on Omaha Beach on the 6th of June 1944.
Warren was captured and held as a prisoner of war on the 28th of August 1944. He was liberated by the American Army on the 27th of April 1945. Warren served his country for 3 years, and was discharged from the Army on the 23rd of November 1945. Shortly after he was discharged from the Army, Warren met the love of his life, and they were married on October 30th, 1948. They lived a happy life together and raised seven wonderful children. Warren has accomplished many things in his lifetime, and all who knew him were honored to be a part of his life.
