Yvonne Frances Hengen

(Kapell) of Windthorst, Saskatchewan on January 29, 2022 at the age of 76. Yvonne was born in

Indian Head, Saskatchewan on September 25th, 1945. She was the eldest child

of Francis and Elizabeth Kapell. Yvonne and her husband, Matt farmed for

many years and after his passing, in 2002, she moved into Windthorst, where

she resided for the remainder of her life. She worked as a cook for several

years and enjoyed many interests such as curling, baseball, little theatre,

puzzle-making, and spending time with her beloved family. Her grandchildren

were extremely important to her and she enjoyed watching their activities

and having them for sleep overs. This past year, she was blessed with a

great-grand daughter, whom she adored.

Yvonne was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Elizabeth Kapell, her

husband, Mathias Hengen, step-mother, Mathilda Kapell, her mother and father-in-law, Matt and Alma Hengen, brother, Daryl Kapell, brothers and sisters in-law; Lenn Dovell, Bill and Lorraine Hengen,

Jerome and Helen Hengen, Joe and Mary Hengen, Roy and Veronica Steele, and

Herb Tholl.

She is survived by her children Gerard (Lynne), Jeanette (Joe) Knox and

Dominic (Jennifer); grandchildren Britteny (Clint) Duke, Yvette Hengen

(Colton Wilson), Joshua Switzer, Cole and Reid Hengen; great grand-daughter

Luna Duke; special friend, Alan Todd; sister, Lynn Dovell, sister-in-law,

Rilla Kapell, sister, Karen (Norman) Jones and brother Lyle (Shelly) Kapell;

sister-in-law Bernadette Tholl, and brothers-in-law Fr. Edward Hengen and

Fr. Francis Hengen as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.

A public visitation was held in St Pius Roman Catholic Church, Windthorst, Sk on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The funeral mass followed at 11:00 a.m. in St Pius with Fr. Francis Hengen, celebrant. Interment followed in the St Pius Cemetery. The family invited everyone to join them for a luncheon in the Windthorst Community Hall following the interment.
