Charley Mae Tillman

Charley Mae Tillman was born November 8, 1934 to Charlie and Bleaka Barber in Rockhill, SC. She departed this life August 1, 2019 in Rhode Island hospital in Providence, RI. where she resided. She graduated West Charlotte High School, Charlotte, NC. She was a homemaker who provided a loving and caring home for her family. Charley also loved traveling, reading and walking. She always believed in prayer. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Tillman, her father Charlie Barber, mother Bleaka Barber, daughter Vickie Brown, grandson Larry Darnell Williams Jr. sisters Carolyn Jarvis and Laura Cobbins, and her brothers, Author Smith and Leroy Smith. She leaves her daughters, Anita Toran (Melvin), Norma Berry, Angela Barber, Angel Wilson, sons Richard Barber, Timothy Barber (Tricia), Byron Barber, and Dewood Wilson, sisters Sophia Wells, Alice Barber, and Sarah Clark, and a brother Richard Barber (Ellen), and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Charley's life will take place Saturday August 24, 2019 at 2:00pm with Bishop Charles Glenn officiating. There will be a time of gathering prior from 1:30pm to 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to help with funeral expenses, please direct towards the family.
