A baby girl was born to Johnnie Jolly Sr. and Jennie Flemming Jolly on May 15, 1932 in Warden Louisiana. They named her Evelyn. She was the tenth of eleven siblings. She was taught the "Golden Rules" by her parents and these rules remained with her through her life’s journey. Evelyn was educated in the Richland Parish Training School. She confessed Jesus as her Lord and Saviour at a youthful age and was baptized. She was a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Epps, Louisiana. She later moved to Texas City in 1956. She was employed at Mainland Center Hospital for years and later moved to California. Later in life she returned home to Texas from California to live out her final days. Evelyn was the matriarch of her family; she was blessed to see four generations. She enjoyed cooking family dinners and spending quality time with her love ones. She suffered her own personal pain and sorrow, yet through it all, her faith and trust in God never wavered. She was God-fearing, wise, strong, passionate, loving, but most of all ready to meet her Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ. Evelyn Williams was called home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Jennie Jolly; her great grandson; her three brothers, Lois Jolly, George Jolly and Johnnie Jolly Jr. and two sisters, Ester Reed and Asie Lee McDaniel and other love ones. Her legacy of strength and love will continue to live on in the lives of her family, her son, Cleaon Jolly; her daughter, Doretha Johnson (Orris); her brother, Milton Alexander; her five grandchildren, Tifani Johnson, Nikki Jolly, Cleaon Jolly, Jr., Brandon Jolly and Danny Johnson; her eleven great-grandchildren; her one precious great-great granddaughter; her host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
