

Krawiec, Florence, S., 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a brief period of illness on October 12, 2015. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jacob J. (Jake) Krawiec, her parents Frank J. and Anna F. Slupicki, her sister Jean and brother Joseph. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Henry P. Krawiec of Wareham, Massachusetts and sister-in-law, Helen E. Krawiec of Rocky Hill, Connecticut. In addition, her cousin Elizabeth Rachubka and several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
She was born in East Rutherford, New Jersey on August 2, 1926. She attended and graduated from the local high school in East Rutherford. Upon Graduation, she enlisted in the Air Force and served her country for three years. Upon being honorably discharged, she was employed with New Jersey Bell in Rutherford. When her parents moved to Seminole, she transferred to Peninsular Telephone Co., in Clearwater, which later became GTE as a telephone operator. While working at Peninsular telephone, she was very active in the women’s softball league and playing tennis.
On a blind date, she met the love of her life Jake, and two years later they married. Shortly thereafter, she retired from the telephone company. A few years later, Jake was fortunate enough to retire and they could spend time together.
As newlyweds, and after they retired, they were always civic minded. Together they spent over 25 years as volunteers at Bay Pines Veterans hospital and both were avid blood donors.
During retirement, Florence and Jake spent many years traveling the world. They visited every state in the United States. They also visited most of the Canadian Provinces. Their travels internationally included Poland, the Scandinavian Countries, and mid-East. They also enjoyed taking cruises throughout the Caribbean Islands and to Mexico. Both of them loved camping in their camper or motor homes. In their later years they enjoyed their summer home in the mountains of Georgia.
With all of this, Florence was an active member of the Women’s Oriental Shrine and the Social Order of the Beauceant. She was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Springtime Commandery number 40 Knights Templar. She was also past secretary and president of their International Camping Group. At one point she was an instructor for Weight Watchers. Florence was very supportive of their church in Seminole, St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church.
