Helen lived a long, happy life and died peacefully in her sleep at home, with family by her side, after doing her best to battle cancer. She is survived by three children, Barry Friedman, Joanne (Friedman) McAvoy, and Gregg Gooden, their spouses, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was selfless, loved to take care of others, and always said “Food is Love!” and “Eat! Eat! Eat!” Helen enjoyed cooking, knitting, British mysteries, doing puzzles, and collecting butterflies.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville KY 40218, with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
