

He was born July 2, 1935 in Detroit, MI the son of George and Julia Zammit. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joan Kitson; and his brother, George Andrew Zammit.
He retired from GE with over 40 years of service. After retirement, his life mission became serving those who were under privileged with organizations that include Habitat for Humanity, St. John Center, Cathedral of the Assumption Daily Lunch Program and Association for the Blind.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 57 years, Carol F. Zammit; two daughters, Karen Marie Van Wagenen (Trevor) and Lynda Marie Zammit (Dwight); two grandchildren, Brittany Lynn Van Wagenen and Justin Joseph Van Wagenen; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A mass to celebrate Joseph’s life will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 S. Fifth St. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Friday at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd.
In lieu of customary expressions donations may be given to St. John Center, 700 E. Muhammad Ali Blvd, Louisville, KY 40202.
