Mitchel Roberts ‘Bob’ McElya passed away August 7, 2018. He was surrounded by love and by loved ones. His legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren, as well as in the thousands of others he in-spired during his years as an actor, teacher, and director.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne Brumm McElya.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Kate (Clay) Russell, Amanda McElya, Mike (Noelle) McElya, Ruth (Will) McElya-LeStrange, and the grandchildren whom he adored: Robert, Andrew, Richard, Mi-chael, Monica, Eleanor, Benjamin, Zoe, Georgia, Ruby, and Jonah.
Bob didn’t love a funeral but he did love a party. So we will come together to celebrate his life on Tues-day August 14th from 4-7 pm upstairs at Saints Sky Bar, 131 Breckenridge Ln, Louisville, KY 40207.
Anyone who knew Bob at all knows how much he loved flowers. So in lieu of donations, his family asks you to plant a rose, wear a flowered shirt, get a flower tattoo, bring flowers to the party, hang some flow-ered wallpaper - you get the idea, anything to remind you of this remarkable man.
