Born April 01, 1933 in Lynchburg he was a son of the late Robert Pompey Lawhorn and Mittie Johns Lawhorn. He was a self-employed mechanic, and loved to spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his six siblings, Robert Lawhorn, Dudley Lawhorn, Calvin Lawhorn, John Lawhorn, Margret Hudson and Annie May Crenshaw.
He is survived by four daughters, Patricia Whitten, Ann Zenzen (Troy), Peggy Pettry (Byrd) all of Madison Heights, and Debbie Wray (David) of Lynchburg; a son, David Wayne Newcomb (Darla) of Madison Heights; 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; his german shepherd Libby who he loved dearly; and many friends, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February, 27 2020 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Sidney Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Briarwood Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
In lieu of flowers family suggest helping with funeral expenses.
