I met Ken when he was a THP Sgt. in Victoria. He was my brother's (Stuart) supervisor. He was a fine individual and credit to the DPS family. I know he will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. My deepest sympathy to the family and may God be with with you in this time of sadness and loss.

So sad to hear of the passing of Maj. Bertling (Ken). I worked with him in Midland and became close friends. He never hesitated to lend a helping hanh to anyone in need. When HP Sgt. Rasberry retired in Pecos,a group of us, LED BY KEN, built a workshop for Rasberry. Ken will be remembered fondly by those of us who knew him. Archie L. Blackwell, Retired MVTS, Midland, Texas

Peace be upon the Bertling family. I worked with and under Major Bertling while he was in Midland. He was a man to ride the fence with.

Ken Bertling was my Major when I was stationed in El Paso. Also worked with him when he supervised the Vehicle Inspection Program out of Corpus Christi. Have the utmost respect for this man. I know you will cherish his memory forever.

To all of the Bertling family- You will each one remain in my prayers always!

"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is the Father who is full of mercy and all comfort. He comforts us every time we have trouble, so when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gives us. We share in the many sufferings of Christ. In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ."
