George Lester Williams

Born October 24, 1945 in Greenville, Texas to Ella M. Duffie and went home to meet his Lord and Savior on September 13, 2020 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 74. He is proceeded in death by his mother Ella M. Duffie and grandmother Bessie Mae Duffie. George is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 52 years Frances Williams, 2 son's Paul Williams and Devin Williams and wife Tasha, 3 grandchildren Trenton, Payton and Parker, cousin's Thomas Wayne Williams, Yolanda Mathis, Penny Frazier, Margie and Ken Lee, Ernest and Jerald Nelson, Thera, Deborah and Tammy Nelson, Artist Newsom, Homer Berdine and numerous other family members and friends including his church family at First Christian Church in Rowlett, Texas.

George attended Booker T. Washington elementary and graduated from George W. Carver High School in 1964. He attended East Texas State College for a short period of time and then Joined the U.S. Air Force in June of 1965. As a child George attended and later was baptized at the Clark Street Christian Church where he sang in the Jr. Choir and was a participant of the C. Y. F, along with being the president of the usher board. He also served his church as an Elder at the First Christian Church in Rowlett, Texas.

While stationed in Anchorage, Alaska he met Frances McBeth and they married December 1, 1967 and later had 2 boys Paul Darren Williams and Devin Nicholas Williams. He worked for Kansas City Southern Railroad as a Conductor for 28 years, until medical conditions resulted in his retirement.

Love this man so much! He and his beautiful wife are so precious to me! God is cradling him now and we will miss him so! We laughed and kicked each other all the time. Got more lectures than hugs lol. Rest In Peace my friend!
