Ellon Ruth Wilkinson, age 83, of Carrollton, GA went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 20, 2016. She was born May 23, 1932 in Carrollton, GA to the late U. M. Frashier and Minnie Myrtle Jenkins Frashier.
Ruth married the love of her life, Vergial Raymond Wilkinson and was blessed with two children. They raised their family in Carrollton and was a member of the Sandhill Church of God for many years. Ruth was known to many as Nana Ruth and Maw Maw Ruth. She was a second mother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made biscuits 3 times a day and waited on her family when it was time to eat. Thanksgiving and Christmas was always spent at her house with family time being the most important thing in her life, of course only second to God. She was a matriarch to our family that will be missed greatly.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vergial Raymond Wilkinson; her son, Wayne Douglas Wilkinson; a grandson, Johnny Ray Roddenberry; her siblings, B.J. Frashier, Ira Frashier and Vera Mae Gore.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Ann & Wayne Roddenberry of North Fort Meyers, FL; her grandchildren, Lisa Roddenberry Broom of Carrollton, GA, Jerry & Paula Roddenberry of Temple, GA, Ashley & J.J. Hulsey of Bremen, GA, Alex Roddenberry of Carrollton, GA, Candi & Brad Jenkins of Roswell, GA, Sandi Wilkinson of Foster, KY and Jeffrey S. Wilkinson of Milton, FL; 12 great grandchildren, D.J., Andrew, Kinley, Ansley, Rhett, Ella, Ethan, Dillon, Brittany, Brad, Brooke and Bridget; a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie & Billy Meacham of Newnan, GA and a sister-in-law, Mary Lee Frashier of Carrollton, GA and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be Monday, May 23, 2016 at Carroll Memory Gardens at 2 PM with Rev. Roy Frashier and Mr. Jeffrey S. Wilkinson officiating. The family will receive friends at New Beginnings Church of God, 504 Newnan Road, Carrollton, GA Monday, May 23, from 12 Noon until 1:30 PM.
Special thanks to her granddaughter, Lisa, for taking the walk from start to finish with our mother and grandmother through her sickness with Alzheimer’s Disease. God Bless You Lisa for all you’ve done.
