John graduated from Niceville High School in 1975 where he was in Rotc.He was the class clown and loved to joke with everyone.John went to Okaloosa Applied Technology Center for a year and studied house design. He wanted to be an architect and was a very talented artist.John was a very creative person and he used to draw all the time.

In 1988 he moved to Niceville with Debbie and Christopher Seip.He was a great dad to Christopher and loved him very much. They took several trips to Disney and Universal Studios together and he acted like a big kid and always had a great time.He didn't like to travel or even leave Florida so it was the only place Debbie could get him to go.
A lot of people called him Eeyore or Grumpy because he had a very gruff exterior. But he couldn't fool people for long before they could see that he had a great big heart and would do anything for anyone who needed help. Before he would load up his truck with his newspapers he would load up newspapers for elderly or pregnant woman. And everyone who ever moved knows John would be the first one to offer help.He used to hang out at Wayside Park and before he would leave he would walk around and pick up trash and broken glass.
He loved jeopardy and watched it everyday and was very good at it.Also liked to do crossword puzzles and play chess. He was trying to learn to play the harmonica.John was a big Trekkie. He loved Star Trek so much he painted his living room with the help of Debbie and Ken like a space scene from the show.It took 6 months and even glows in the dark.It was his showcase.
John was an artist and a poet.He has written poems for most of his adult life and has written a poem for almost all his friends and every year for her birthday or Christmas would write one for Debbie. She cherished them very much. Recently he had started to write a lot of poetry and written a few about death. He had also been selling wire hanger art to local businesses and to anyone who wanted one.He kept pushing himself to make better things and get more creative and was very good at it.
John's parents both passed away within 2 months of each other when they were in their early 60's.It was a very difficult time for him and his family. He became a big part of the Seip family and they loved him like one of their own and he loved them. His friends will never forget him and all the good times they had with him.He was unlike anyone else and everyone loved him.He touched a lot of lives and helped a lot of people.Even in death he helped people by donating his tissues for people in need. That's the kind of person he was.He was a very generous person.
