He was the beloved husband of the late Denise M. Mozzi to whom he was married almost 69 years. Born in Bridgeport, CT on August 27, 1921 and raised in Stratford, he was the only child of the late Peter and Augustina (Brega) Mozzi. A graduate of Stratford High School, Paul served during World War II in the U.S. Army as Technician Fifth Grade - Medical Detachment. He was stationed in Belgium where he met and married the love of his life, Denise M. (Dolhen) Mozzi with whom he formed a loving family.
Along with two cousins, Paul was the generous co-owner of the French Baking Company in Stratford, CT. Paul was extremely proud of his Italian heritage. He was an exemplary grandfather and a colorful personality. He enjoyed traveling with his wife especially to Belgium and Italy. A thoughtful, caring, fun-loving person, Paul enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and many friends, playing Pinochle, joking, dancing, recording old movies and joining his wife in entertaining. Paul became Roman Catholic as an adult and was a longtime parishioner of St. Theresa Church in Trumbull.
Survivors include his three loving children, John Mozzi of Nashville, TN, Nadine Mozzi Behmke and her husband Brian of Stratford and Paul C. Mozzi and his wife Kelly in Old Hickory, TN and three cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Justin Behmke and Lily Mozzi.
Friends may call on Friday, October 4th, 5-8pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT. Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Saturday, October, 5th at 10am at St. Theresa Parish, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull.
