Lillian Atchison
Our Saviour came for another angel as she slept and gave Lillian her wings; she asked Him for pale blue ones. She is finally reunited with her mother Mary who left her 100 years ago when she was only 6 months old, her brother Norman and her two sisters Violet and Agnes and so many other dear friends who have gone before her.
Lillian lived an extraordinary life in an ordinary world.
She was an employee of Eaton's from the age of 17 until her retirement at 65. After retirement, her love for travel and adventure led her to a second career as a tour director with Craig Travel.
Lillian's real legacy was her ''joie de vie'', and her generosity, genuine concern and kind words for everyone she met right up until her last breath that made her lasting friends wherever she went.
Lillian's true love, JP, died at an early age and she never married but she adopted her cousin Rosemary Coffin, her husband Frank and their family as her honorary daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will leave a huge void in all our lives as well as the lives of her cousin Janice Adamache and husband Gerry of Winnipeg, MA and too many friends to count. We have all been blessed to be part of her life. She has certainly been an inspiration for all that knew her.
In true Lillian style we have been given strict instructions not to be sad and mourn her passing but to celebrate the wonderful life she lived. She asked only to carry a small bouquet of daisies in her hand on this final journey but if you wish to honour her memory you may do so by paying it forward, just like she would have done herself, with a simple act of kindness towards someone in need.
The family welcomes you to say your final goodbyes at the Burial of her Urn in Mount Royal Cemetery, 1297 Foret Road, Outremount, QC H2V 2P9 on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:00 am where Lillian will lay beside the rest of her family. The burial will be immediately followed by A Celebration of Life Ceremony and luncheon at Chateau Vaudreuil, 21700 Trans-Canada Hwy., Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC J7V 8P3. Kindly confirm your attendance to Rosemary at [email protected] so the reception hall can make the necessary accommodations.
‘’You can shed tears that I am gone
Or you can smile because I lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that I’ll come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all I’ve left behind.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see me
Or you can be full of the love that we shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live our yesterdays
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of our yesterdays.
You can remember me and only that I am gone,
Or you can cherish my memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what I would want you to: smile, open your eyes,
Love and go on.’’
RIP Lillian
